We Cut Our First Part

We cut our first real part on a CNC today.

Not just something like looked right on a screen, or that exported to a DXF or other format.... an actual physical piece of plywood that came off a CNC machine.

That felt like a big milestone.

For the actual test part, we build a self onboarding flow for our customers will adda new machine. Part of that onboarding flow is to cut a test part to prove the machine can handle different types of cuts and get the spacing right.

NewCNC had graciously emailed over their documentation of how their post processors worked, so all we had to do was drive over to Leon's shop, log into Grainwork, generate the test part, and run the program.

Success on the first try.

Part of the self onboarding flow is to measure the test part afterward and mark each area that is correct. That helps us know this machine is setup and working correctly.

What's immediately next?

Our first small round of beta users starts getting access later this week.

We do still have a lot of work to be ready for a full CNC production shop, but we are making major strides every week and we are on track with our initial schedule and timeline we released earlier.
